The Best Way To Get Started Learning About Ways of Being

In my Day 2 Essay, I talked about Ways of Being, and how they impact our ability to access Innate Wisdom.

Let's consider two ways: "natural" and "normal".

"Natural" is how we were born to be. "Normal" is how we usually are. It's often a function of habitual thinking. But it's not us.

To experience this more clearly, consider the following questions.

1. When was the last time you felt the way you would like to feel for the rest of your life?

2. What was that feeling?

You might need to go back a bit in time (which is useful information in itself). Take a moment to really get into the feeling of that memory and describe it as best you can.

This your "natural" self. Who you were born to be. A way of being that requires zero effort. When you're not in this feeling, that's your "normal" self.

When you're in that feeling of your "natural" self

3. How does life tend to look?

4. How are you with other people?

5. How do you handle situations that aren't going your way?

Take a little time to write down your answers.

When you're not in that feeling of your "natural" self

6. How does life tend to look?

7. How are you with other people?

8. How do you handle situations that aren't going your way?

Again, take some time and write down your answers.

What do you notice about the two sets of answers?

Most people try and work on fixing stuff that is related to not being in that feeling of your natural self.

But if you hang out more in that feeling of your natural self, you won't need to.

I'd love to hear what you discover about yourself.
