Searching to find purpose in your life? These two questions could finally give you the answer you've been looking for.
I used to spend a lot of time thinking about the notion of "purpose". I (like many others) believed I was put on this earth to do something specific and that I wouldn't find fulfilment until I found and achieved whatever it was.
But the more I searched for my purpose, the less I saw and the more frustrated I became.
It was a bit like the kind of frustration you might feel if you kept looking for the sunrise while facing west.
Eventually I realised that no amount of facing west was going to show me what I wanted to see.
And then I heard the questions I wrote about on Day 3 being whispered in my ear:
When was the last time you felt the way you would like to feel for the rest of your life? What was that feeling?
For me it was a time when I felt curious, creative, playful, connected.
And then it hit me:
If this is my natural self, this who and how I was born to be.
And then I realised:
My purpose is simply to be my natural self as much as I can be.
And when I'm being that, everything I do will be fully aligned with my purpose.
