# Coaching Walks in Canary Wharf — Leadership Coaching That Moves With You

A coaching walk is an outdoor leadership coaching session in Canary Wharf, London. Tony Piper walks side by side with tech leaders — CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and neurodivergent professionals — through docklands parks and waterfront paths. 60 or 90-minute conversations that create space for natural clarity, without frameworks or performance.

Your clearest thinking doesn't happen at your desk. It happens when you step outside, start walking, and let your mind settle.

A coaching walk is a 60 or 90-minute conversation that takes place outdoors, walking side by side through Canary Wharf's docklands, parks, and waterfront paths. No office. No screen. No performance.

There's something about walking that changes the quality of a conversation. Movement loosens thinking. Fresh air and open sky create space. And walking side by side — rather than sitting face to face — makes it easier to drop the "meeting version" of yourself and talk about what's actually going on.

## Who it's for

I work with tech leaders — CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Heads of Engineering, technical founders, and senior ICs stepping into leadership. Many of my clients are neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic, or both), though you don't need to be to work with me.

If you're navigating any of these, a coaching walk might be exactly what you need:

- The weight of a role that's outgrown the playbook that got you there
- Imposter syndrome that gets louder the more senior you get
- Burnout — not from the work itself, but from performing "leader" all day
- Decision fatigue, overthinking, or feeling stuck
- The exhaustion of masking who you really are at work

## How it works

We meet at a spot in Canary Wharf — Jubilee Park, the Thames Path, or Crossrail Place Roof Garden depending on the weather and your preference. We walk, and we talk. That's it.

There's no agenda template. No pre-work. No action items at the end (unless you want them). My approach is rooted in the Three Principles — a transformative understanding of how the mind works. In practice, that means I'm not adding frameworks to your already-full mind. I'm creating the conditions for your own clarity to surface.

When insight lands naturally, it tends to stick — without willpower, discipline, or another app.

## The route

The walk typically covers a loop through Canary Wharf's green spaces and waterfront.

![Canary Wharf's modern skyline rises along the waterfront, with glass-covered skyscrapers and a cylindrical tower reflecting against the blue sky.](https://tonypiper.coach/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,width=1024,height=683,fit=crop,gravity=auto,quality=85/images/canary-wharf-waterfront-ViQcpiQn.jpg?v=1775588936) South Dock & the Waterfront — open water, wide sky, a sense of forward motion Something about walking alongside water opens up thinking in a way that four walls never can.

![A curved concrete walkway winds through lush tropical vegetation with dense green foliage, ferns, and overhanging tree branches creating a natural canopy overhead. Two people can be seen walking in the distance along the shaded garden path.](https://tonypiper.coach/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,width=1024,height=768,fit=crop,gravity=auto,quality=85/images/crossrail-place-roof-garden-zv_v2t31.jpg?v=1775588974) Crossrail Place Roof Garden — an unexpected tropical garden under glass The exact route adapts to the conversation. Sometimes we loop. Sometimes we stop and sit for a while. The walk serves the thinking, not the other way around.

## About me

I'm Tony Piper. I spent 27 years in technology leadership — from developer to IT Director and Head of Technical Consultancy — before becoming a coach full-time in 2019.

I coach the way I do because I've sat where you're sitting. I've felt the weight of leading teams through impossible deadlines, navigated restructures, and learned the hard way that the hardest problems in tech aren't technical.

I'm neurodivergent myself (ADHD), and many of the leaders I work with are too. If you've spent your career masking to fit in, my coaching is a space where you don't have to.

**Less Mask. More You.**
